1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information when you use Ulobo:

• Account data: phone number, name, and profile photo.
• Job data: job descriptions, photos, location coordinates, and budget amounts.
• Transaction data: wallet top-ups, escrow holds, payouts, and referral bonuses.
• Device data: FCM token for push notifications.
• Usage data: actions taken within the app (bids, messages, reviews).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate and improve the Ulobo marketplace.
• Verify your identity via OTP and process transactions securely.
• Send transactional notifications (job updates, payment confirmations, OTPs).
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Location Data

Job listings include coordinates to enable proximity-based search. Exact coordinates are not exposed to other users; only a distance estimate (e.g., "14 km away") is displayed.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Twilio — for SMS delivery of OTPs and account notifications.
• Firebase (Google) — for push notification delivery.
• Stripe — for payment processing and wallet top-ups.
• AWS S3 (when configured) — for media storage.

All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements and are prohibited from using your data for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal data is anonymised within 30 days and historical transaction records are retained in anonymised form for audit purposes.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account (via Settings → Delete Account).
• Withdraw consent for non-essential communications.

7. Security

We use bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS-only transport, JWT-based authentication with token rotation, and encrypted storage for sensitive credentials. No security measure is perfect; please use a strong unique password and keep your recovery phone number up to date.

8. Children

Ulobo is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via SMS or a prominent in-app notice.
